The plague of plastic pollution

Hello Darling!
I know you might not expect a spiritual healer to talk about plastic pollution but this week that's what I feel very moved to talk about. 
Thank goodness we seem to at last be waking up to the urgent need to address the terrible damage we are doing to our beautiful Mother Earth through the thoughtless use of plastic. As an energy healer, I'm very aware that all sentient beings experience pain and suffering and, on our planet today, many creatures great and small are suffering as a result of plastic. 
Did you know that UK supermarkets currently generate one million tons of plastic every year? We are choking in plastic and poisoning ourselves with the chemicals they leech into soil and waters. It's bad enough that we're doing it to ourselves but in my opinion it's far worse that we are subjecting all the other creatures who live on this planet to the same fate. I spend enough time in Dubai to know that camels roaming the deserts are dying due to stomachs distended with plastic waste from humans. The same thing is happening to the whales in our oceans. The question is, what can we do about it? There's no use feeling that the problem is too large and that nothing can be done. I believe we can stage a revolution and transform the way we think about the 'convenience' of plastic. Is it really so convenient to have mountains of plastic waste clogging up our countryside, rivers and lakes? That's why I signed a Greenpeace petition this week aimed at plastic-free UK supermarkets (if you feel so moved, here is the link https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/plastic-free-supermarket-ef)
We must clean up our act and even the smallest of gestures counts... like saying no to a disposable coffee cup, refusing plastic bags when you shop... I shall be thinking of more ways that I can reduce my use of plastic and I would love to hear your suggestions as well.
