What is energy healing?

Hello Darling!
This blog is inspired by a new client who, this week, asked me what's actually going on during a hands-on healing session with me. It was her first experience of this kind of alternative energy medicine and, like many people, she was bewildered, sceptical but also curious.
"I'm not someone who usually goes in for this kind of thing" she told me. She'd only made an appointment and turned up at my door on the recommendation of a friend. As well, she was starting to get desperate - as so many of the people are who find their way to me. It's very common for people with chronic health and medical issues to finally be willing to try energy healing simply because they've run out of other options. They've been suffering in pain or discomfort for many, many years and conventional 'pills, creams and surgical knives' medicine has nothing else to offer them other than ever-increasing doses of strong pharmaceuticals that might, but often don't, mask their symptoms, although not actually bringing about any kind of lasting healing. 
At this point, many people take a 'well, what have I got to lose' approach. 'I'll lay down and let this lady hover her hands over me, it'll probably do nothing but it can't do any harm...' they think.
I have no problem with this kind of scepticism. It's impossible not to be sceptical of energy healing in today's modern society where we have placed all the importance on our logical, analytic and rational left-brain to the detriment of our neglected creative, intuitive, connected right-brain. As a result, we have a world that believes 'if I can't see it or touch it, it's not real'. 
It always strikes me as a conflicting stance from people who readily accept that electromagnetic frequencies, wavelengths, radio waves and so on, fly unseen through the air and through space to connect our little mobile phone to someone's little mobile phone on the other side of the planet.
This requires a belief or a faith in unseen energies.
And unseen energies is exactly what I am working with when I open myself up to channel frequencies from higher realms and direct them to a person who will benefit from their healing properties.
I am basically a conduit of energy. This energy has an intelligence and a consciousness. It uses me as a kind of bridge for accessing the Earth plane. Anyone can do this if they wish to and intend to, although practise may be needed. Just like a tap that hasn't been turned on for decades, the 'water' might not flow very well initially.
Most of the time, these channeled healing energies, or frequencies, break down the blocks that are preventing the body-brain from healing itself. We get build ups of dense, negative energy in various parts of our body. This is the result of negative thinking, unprocessed trauma, stress, anxiety, and limiting beliefs. 
When these energy blocks stop our life force - aka chi, aka prana - from flowing freely through our body, then the parts of the body that are not getting any or all of the life force energy will eventually present as physical problems. In the same way that if blood is not reaching your big toe, it will eventually go black and fall off.
For example, if someone has a subconscious belief that they never have enough money and making ends meet is always a struggle, this belief can impact the flow of energy around our root chakra, which is about survival and support. If unaddressed, this can, over time, lead to an energy blockage in the lower back that eventually manifests as back ache in the physical body.
With hands-on healing, the dense energy stuck in the root chakra is broken down and dissolved so that once again the life force can flow freely through the meridians. It is important though to also clear any limiting beliefs that caused the negative energy to build up in the first place, otherwise the back pain may return down the track. This can sometimes be done with the energy healing and other times it may need a technique such as EFT Tapping Matrix Reimprinting. That's why I love combining a variety of healing techniques. As a combination, they can be extremely powerful and effective.
How did the first session with that new client go? She was puzzled and intrigued. She could feel the heat in my hands and enjoyed the complete relaxation so she has made a second appointment but still remains sceptical. Which is absolutely fine!
